Etihad Airways plans major global recruitment drive

Abu Dhabi, Sep 22 (IANS/WAM): Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), will hold a major recruitment drive globally, seeking individuals with outstanding hospitality experience to join the airline’s cabin crew.

The international recruitment days will be held in 12 different cities in five countries -- Italy, Germany, Japan, Morocco and Tunisia.

In Abu Dhabi, the airline will also hold recruitment days on Oct 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, and open days for food and beverage managers and inflight chefs on Oct 13 and 27.

"In each of these cities, we will be inviting up to 200 of the strongest candidates with remarkable hospitality skills to join us at the recruitment days," Aubrey Tiedt, Etihad Airway’' vice-president for guest services, said in a statement Monday.

Along with providing candidates with comprehensive information about living in Abu Dhabi and the dynamics of working with guests at 30,000 feet, the airline will also conduct an in-depth interview process.

"To support the rapid growth of the airline, we are hosting our recruitment drive in these countries, all strategically-important markets for the airline. Our cabin crew team hails from more than 115 nationalities and benefits from extensive training and development, with tremendous career opportunities and new life experiences in the UAE," Tiedt said.

Successful candidates will undergo a comprehensive training programme in Abu Dhabi, which will include all aspects of cabin safety and service delivery. The training will conducted at Etihad Airways' state-of-the-art training academy.
