Two killed in explosions in China's Xinjiang


Beijing, Sep 22 (IANS): A series of explosions in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region killed two people and injured a number of others, Xinhua reported Monday.

The regional government website said the blasts happened around 5 p.m. Sunday in several locations in Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture, including in front of a shop in Luntai County and the townships of Yangxia and Terakbazar.

The injured were rushed to hospital. According to the website, authorities are investigating the case and normalcy has returned to the areas.
