Couple held for creating ruckus in Gurgaon hospital


Gurgaon, Sep 22 (IANS): A man and his wife were Monday arrested here for creating ruckus and assaulting hospital staff after a doctor protested to his spitting 'gutkha' in a hospital premises, police said.

Chhote Lal and his wife Kusum were arrested at the General Hospital.

The couple along with a woman named Rita had visited the hospital to meet a patient Sunday night.

"The doctor on duty Ramankant objected to Chhote Lal spitting 'gutkha'. The trio called their friends and created a huge ruckus and also beat up hospital staff," a police officer told IANS.

The couple hail from Balia district of Bihar and work here in a private company.

A case has been registered against several people.

Taking note of the incident, Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Vidyarthi and Commissioner of Police Alok Mittal have called for strengthening security in the hospital so that such incidents do not recur.
