Pakistani president appeals for foreign investments

Islamabad, Sep 22 (IANS): President Mamnoon Hussain Monday called on foreign investors and industrialists to invest in Pakistan and take full advantage of a business friendly environment, as the government is implementing a liberal policy to promote trade and economic activities.

Speaking at 11th Business Excellence Ceremony organised by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce in Peshawar, President Hussain also said the present government has decided to establish an economic corridor with China which will usher a new era of development in the region, Radio Pakistan reported.

In a reference to the ongoing anti-government protests in Islamabad by Imran Khan's Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf and Tahir-ul-Qadri's Pakistan Awami Tehreek parties, President Hussain said differences and issues cannot be resolved on roads, but these are resolved only through constitution and constitutional institutions.

Stating as the Pakistan armed forces are engaged in eliminating terrorism from the country, he urged the entire nation to standby the armed forces.
