Jet to start four new flights to Abu Dhabi

Mumbai, Sep 23 (IANS): In a major expansion drive, Jet Airways Tuesday said it will enhance global connectivity by introducing four new daily direct flights to Abu Dhabi and beyond effective Nov 14, 2014.

According to the airline, it will link Ahmedabad, Goa, Lucknow and Pune with Abu Dhabi.

"This is truly an indication of the strong demand from the smaller metros and linking up more cities with international destinations apart from giving a boost to trade and tourism besides providing job opportunities," said Gaurang Shetty, senior vice president, commercial, Jet Airways.

The airline said that addition of these new flights will strengthen its growing international network and significantly enhance international flight connectivity to the Gulf and beyond to North America, Europe and Africa with its strategic partner, Etihad Airways.

Currently, Jet Airways operates daily flights from Delhi, Kochi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and 11 flights a week from Mumbai to Abu Dhabi.

The airline added that it will deploy Boeing 737-800 next generation aircraft on this route.
