Sao Paulo eye permanent deal for Pato

Rio de Janeiro, Sep 24 (IANS) Brazil football club Sao Paulo are considering turning striker Alexandre Pato's loan move into a permanent deal.

Pato is Sao Paulo's leading scorer in Brazil's Serie A this season with eight goals from 20 matches, reports Xinhua.

"His performances have made us think about it (offering a contract)," the club's football manager Gustavo Vieira de Oliveira told Folha de S.Paulo Tuesday.

Pato joined Sao Paulo in February after a disappointing season with Corinthians, who bought the striker from AC Milan in January 2013 for a reported 15 million euros.

Pato will return against Flamengo Wednesday after missing Sao Paulo's 1-2 loss to Corinthians Sunday due to a contractual clause.
