'London Plan' failed miserably: Nawaz Sharif

London, Sep 24 (IANS): Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Wednesday remarked that the "London Plan" failed miserably, referring to a meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Tahir-ul Qadri.

In the London meet, Imran Khan and Qadri allegedly discussed the plan to stage a sit-in to overthrow the Sharif-government.

Both -- the PTI and PAT -- have been staging anti-government protests since Aug 15 and organising a sit-in in Islamabad, demanding Sharif's resignation over alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections.

Stating that the entire nation is aware of what had become of the "London Plan", Sharif, who is in London on his way to New York for the annual UN General Assembly meet, told media that Pakistan’s journey towards development and prosperity will continue, Geo News reported.
