Expedite land allotment to 32 police stations: LG tells DDA

New Delhi, Sep 24 (IANS): Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung Wednesday asked the DDA and other government agencies to fast-track the allotment of land for 32 police stations which are functioning out of tents and portable cabins, said an official.

At a meeting chaired by Jung, Delhi Police Commissioner B.S. Bassi informed him that of the 181 police stations, 32 were operating from rented buildings, portable cabins and tents.

The meeting was attended by officials of the Delhi Development Authority and land and development officer of the union urban development ministry.

Jung asked the land owning agencies to submit the status report in the matter and also directed them to "immediately give possession of those lands to the Delhi police whose formalities for allotment have been completed."
