Udupi, Oct 4: The Suvarna Karnataka Cultural Troupe is all set to tour the district from Thursday October 5, informed deputy commissioner Ponnuraj while addressing a press conference here on Tuesday October 3.

The tour will be inaugurated by medical education minister V S Acharya at Byndoor in Kundapur taluk here on Thursday October 5, he said. The inaugural programme will be presided over by Byndoor MLA K Gopal Poojary.

The cultural troupe will visit Kundapur on Friday October 6, Kota on Saturday October 7, Brahmavar on Sunday October 8, Kaup on Wednesday October 11, Hebri on Thursday October 12 and Karkala on Friday October 13.

Cultural programmes such as poets' meet, "Marathi Holli," Bharatnatyam and others will be held. A folk performance at Brahmavar by Self Help Groups of Sri Dharmastala Manjunatheshwara, dance performance by Radhakrishna Nritya Niketana, an art demonstration by Lalit Kala Academy at Udupi and "Bhasabharata" by Rangabhumi will all be held as part of the occasion.
