Out on bail, Chautala addresses rally in Haryana

Jind (Haryana), Sep 25 (IANS): Out of prison on bail on health grounds, former Haryana chief minister and INLD leader Om Prakash Chautala Thursday addressed a political rally in Haryana's Jind town.

Chautala addressed the rally of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) for about 10 minutes.

The former chief minister has been granted bail on health grounds by a Delhi court. He was convicted in January last year for his role in a teachers' recruitment scam.

Chautala, his elder soon Ajay Chautala, and 53 others were convicted by a CBI court in Delhi last year. He and some others were sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment.

After granting him bail, the court had asked him not to participate in political activity.

Addressing the rally, Chautala said he was not afraid to go to jail.

He said the family of his father, former deputy prime minister Devi Lal, was used to giving sacrifices.

Chautala urged voters in Haryana to oust the scam-tainted Bhupinder Singh Hooda government in the state.
