Mangalore, Oct 5: The Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy has organized 3 Konkani-related functions in the St Monica Church premises of Kumbla near Kasargod here on Sunday October 8 evening.  This is for the first time that this sort of Konkani programme has been organized in the Kasargod district.

Two noted personalities of the region who have contributed greatly to Konkani language and culture would be honoured during Mhan Monis Ek Mulakhat programme.  This programme will be followed by Kavita Sobhann, the Konkani poetry session.  The programme will conclude with Konkani music show by 'Maandd Sobhaann."

Senior Konkani writer and activists Stany Crasta, Bela and Babuji Bhat, dasa sankeertana artiste from Kasargod will be felicitated on the day.  Later a discussion session with them too has been organized.

Kavita Sobhaann will be moderated by noted Konkani poet and entrepreneur Titus Noronha.  More than 10 Konkani poets from Karnataka and Kerala are expected to participate in the poetry session.

At last, the Konkani Darshan programme by Maandd Sobhaann group too will be held.  The programme with Konkani songs, dances is aimed at educating the gathering about the history and growth of Konkani.  The programme has been sponsored by Konkani Prachar Sanchalan.
