Udupi, Oct 5: High school girls of St Mary's Junior College, Shirva near here were given bicycles during an official ceremony held at the college premises on Wednesday October 4.

Kaup MLA Lalaji Mendon distributed bicycles to the girls coming from economically poor families. Shirva parish priest Fr Valerian Pinto, ZP member Jerald Fernandes, TP member Rita Mathias and gram panchayat member Lily Monis were present on the dais.

Norbert Machado, Simon Pinto and Ronald Menezes were also present on the occasion.  A total of 25 students were given cycles on the occasion.   More than 300 students were present during the function.
