New Zealand PM worried over civilians joining IS

Wellington, Sep 26 (IANS): New Zealand Prime Minister John Key is worried over the issue of civilians joining the Islamic State (IS) terror group.

"Government was aware of a small group of Kiwis who may pose a threat," New Zealand Herald quoted Key as saying.

"They are brutal, they are highly sophisticated, they are well organised and they are spreading out," Key added.

"We are not immune, so we know there are foreign fighters fighting overseas and we know and can identify at least a reasonably sized that group that want to leave and join that cause," he said.
