Mathura boy, girl found dead with gunshot wounds


Mathura, Sep 26 (IANS): A young boy and a girl, both in their early twenties, were found dead with gunshot wounds in their rented room early Friday in Mathura, police said.

The two rented a room only Thursday evening in the house of Rajendra Prasad Gautam, a retired employee of the Uttar Pradesh state electricity department.

Gautam told police he heard gun shots early Friday morning. When he went to the room, he found the two lying dead on the floor.

The incident happened in Krishna Nagar in the Kotwali area of Mathura.

Police officer Anil Kumar Yadav said the boy has been identified as Sondeep of Mithauli village of Naujheel town. The identity of the girl has not been revealed.

Senior Superintendent of Police Manzil Saini confirmed that the identities of both have been established. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
