CRPF trooper killed in Srinagar


Srinagar, Sep 26 (IANS): A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper was seriously injured in a hit and run attack by separatist guerrillas here Friday and succumbed to his injuries in a hospital, police said.

Police said militants fired at the trooper in Aali Kadal area, critically injuring him.

"The injured CRPF trooper was immediately taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries," a police officer said.

Searches have been mounted in the area to trace the militants, the officer added.
