Rio de Janeiro, Sep 27 (IANS): Brazil will face the US in an under-23 football friendly next month as the South American nation begin their preparation for the Rio 2016 Olympics.
The Oct 13 clash at Brasilia's Mane Garrincha stadium will come three days after Alexandre Gallo's team meets Bolivia's senior team in Cuiaba, Brazil's football confederation (CBF) said Friday, reports Xinhua.
The matches are the beginning of a busy schedule for Brazil's Olympic-age squad.
In July, the CBF announced plans to stage under-23 friendlies concurrently with the Selecao's full international fixtures in preparation for the Rio 2016 Olympics.
According to Gallo, only players who will be under 23 in 2016 will be considered for the matches.
The Olympic football tournament is the only major international competition that Brazil is yet to win.
