Mangalore, Oct 6: After the communal clashes have rocked the city and its surroundings, deputy commissioner Maheshwar has appointed special executive magistrates for better administration in Mangalore and Bantwal taluks.

As reported earlier, Section 144 has been clamped in both the taluks for 3 days.  Considering the derailment of law and order, the DC has appointed these magistrates.

Accordingly K Raju Mogaveera will be the Magistrate in Bantwal taluk limits while B Udaykumar Shetty will function as Magistrate for Mangalore rural station limits and will be stationed in Ullal police station. Prasanna KAS will be the Magistrate of Suratkal and surrounding and he will be stationed in MCC branch office at Suratkal.

Considering the Circuit House as the centre, H Basavarajendra will function as Magistrate in Mangalore North police station jurisdiction.

These Magistrates will have the powers of prohibitory tahsildars and will monitor the law and order situation in their jurisdictions.  They are responsible to the District Magistrate, that is, the DC and will submit reports to him.
