On Sunday, Bangarappa will address a mega-rally near Udupi service bus stand, at 3 pm, said SP state secretary D R Raju at a press conference.

At the rally, Bangarappa will announce the agitations planned against corruption, scandals and anti-people policies of both the Central and State governments.

The rally will also highlight the failures of the government in distributing ration cards, irregularities in distribution of sites, favouritism, poor condition of the National Highway, irregularities in Udupi CMC, poor quality of underground drainage etc.

State executive committee member B Sudhakar Shetty alleged that the government was transferring half of the funds released for the widening of Kalsanka-Kadiyali road to the construction of Barkur bridge.

“Since two years, geographical surveys of the road and the land to be acquired have been carried out. If the money spent on survey had been invested for the construction of road, at least 2 kms of road would have widened. For the comprehensive development of the road at least Rs 25 crore must be released,” Sudhakar Shetty added.

SP district president Ashok M Suvarna, General Secretary Devadas Suvarna, H Raju, Chandrahas Suvarna, Shivapalan and others were present at the press conference.
