Mumbai, Sep 29: The 59th annual general meeting of Chembur Karnataka Sangha was held at Chembur Vidyasagar Sankeerna Sabhagraha on Sunday September 28 in Chembur, Mumbai, and Karnataka Sangh president Jaya N Shetty presided over the programme.
The Chembur Karnataka Sangh has been engaged in empowerment of society in the field of education, society, and culture for more than six decades.
Former president Prabhakar B Bolar and joint treasurer Rama Poojary were present on the dais while honorary secretary Gunakar H Hegde presented the annual report. Joint treasurer Yogesh V Gujaran presented the account details of last year.
Later, executive members for the year 2014-2017 were elected with election officer L K Karkera announcing the list of new members. Senior members Shankar Shetty, Nithyananda Shetty, and journalist Dayasagar Chauta spoke on the occasion and expressed their views.
Jaya Shetty, addressing the gathering, said, “Unity amongst members is the greatest strength and participation in the annual general meeting is important. There is an increase in the number of students in the association and many changes have been made in the building. Permission has been granted by the government for the opening of a law college (LLB) by the government. Empowerment in the field of education will make a notable impact on the society.”
Executive members Vishwanath S Shenava, Devadas K Shettigar, Ranjan Kumar R Ameen, Sundar N Kotiyan, Madukar G Bailur, Mohan S Kanchan, Raju B Sanil, Chandrashekar Anchan, Ashok Saliyan, Jaya M Shetty, Sudhakar Anchan, Chandrakanth Naik, and Sanjeev Shetty were present.
Vice-president advocate H K Sudhakar welcomed the guests, Manish Krishna Gowda conducted the prayer and secretary T R Shetty delivered the vote of thanks.
