LeT guerrilla held in Kashmir


Srinagar, Sep 29 (IANS): A Laskar-e-Taiba (LeT) guerrilla was arrested in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district Monday, police said.

"Sopore police arrested LeT militant Mohammad Shafi Dar alias Ukasha, son of Mohammad Maqbool Dar, who had rejoined militant ranks along with a police rifle. The weapon was recovered from his possession," a police officer said here.

He said that acting on an intelligence input, police carried out a raid at Dangiwacha and arrested Dar.

"An AK-47 rifle with three magazines and 90 rounds of ammunition were recovered from his possession," said the officer, adding Dar was a close associate of slain Let commander Abdullah Yuni.
