Incheon, Sep 30 (IANS): The Indian sepaktakraw contingent had a bad day at the 17th Asian Games as both the men's and women's teams lost their preliminary regu round matches Tuesday.
The men's team lost its first group B match of the day to South Korea 0-2 (13-21, 6-21) in 29 minutes at the Bucheon Gymnasium here. They went down -- but not without a fight -- in their second match with a similar 0-2 margin against Malaysia (22-24, 18-21).
India are at the third spot in their group with two wins and two losses from four matches. South Korea head the group having won all their three matches.
In the women's group A preliminary round, India were beaten by Laos 0-2 (16-21, 14-21) in 26 minutes. They face China in their final opening round match Wednesday.
The Indian women are lying at the bottom of their group having lost both their matches while China, with two wins from two matches, top the group.
