Ghaziabad trader's robbers nabbed, articles recovered


Ghaziabad, Sep 30 (IANS): Ghaziabad police arrested three robbers and recovered a licensed pistol, a gold chain, a bracelet and a mobile phone looted from a businessman Sep 24.

Talking to the media, police officer Ran Vijay Singh said on the day of the crime, Bilaal of Nahal village in Ghaziabad district was caught while three of his accomplices managed to escape.

During intensive checking, police Tuesday nabbed the remaining three robbers -- Anees, Monees and Shaad Mohammad. The first two are residents of Nahal while the third lives in Masuri town of Ghaziabad district.

The police recovered all the articles looted from businessman Hari Om Giri - his licensed pistol of .32 calibre, his mobile, gold chain, gold ring and gold bracelet.

The police also recovered two country-made pistols and four live cartridges of .315 bore that the robbers used in committing the crime.

The robbers disclosed that their accomplices Faisal, Lukman and Sameeullah had collected information about Giri's times of arrival and departure that helped them loot him of his pistol and ornaments valued Rs.5 lakh outside his Patel Nagar office.

The police official added that eight criminal cases, including some under various act related to gangster activities and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances are registered against Anees in the Masuri police station of Ghaziabad.
