Rio de Janeiro, Oct 3 (IANS) Brazil football coach Dunga has added uncapped Sao Paulo midfielder Souza to his 23-man squad for friendlies against Argentina and Singapore in Asia.
Souza replaces Chelsea midfielder Ramires, who is sidelined with a groin injury, the Brazilian football confederation said on its official website Thursday, reports Xinhua.
Gremio goalkeeper Marcelo Grohe has also been called up as cover for Jefferson after the Botafogo goalkeeper suffered a finger injury Wednesday.
Jefferson, who started in Brazil's friendlies against Colombia and Ecuador last month, has not been cut from Dunga's squad.
Brazil will play Argentina in Beijing Oct 11 followed by a clash against Japan in Singapore three days later.
Souza, 25, represented Brazil at under-20 level and has impressed this season for Sao Paulo in Brazil's Serie A championship.
Grohe, 27, is also yet to make his full international debut.
