Sonia Gandhi attacks BJP over 'false promises'

Meham (Haryana), Oct 4 (IANS): Congress president Sonia Gandhi led a frontal attack on the BJP Saturday, saying it had misled people by making "false promises".

Charging the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) central government for failing to fulfill its promises made before the April-May Lok Sabha elections, Gandhi urged voters to beware of the BJP.

"What happened to the promise of bringing back black money from abroad within 100 days," she asked while addressing her first political rally for the Congress for the Oct 15 assembly polls in Haryana.

"The BJP government is trying to show off as if it is doing everything and as if nothing was happening earlier. Have they been able to fulfill their promises on bringing down inflation, helping the poor or providing jobs to youth."

Gandhi's attack on the BJP came just a couple of hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched his campaign at Karnal town.
