Pakistani suspended for letting Afghans go to Britain

Islamabad, Oct 6 (IANS): A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) official was suspended for allowing 10 Afghan nationals with fake documents to board a flight from Islamabad to London, media reported Monday.

The PIA Sunday suspended Khurram Shahzad, a member of the task force which had cleared visas and passports of the Afghans at Islamabad's Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Dawn online reported.

The Afghan nationals were taken into custody after they landed at London's Heathrow airport.

A PIA spokesman said an investigation had begun against Shahzad and other staff members.
