Dhirubhai Ambani International School gets top ranking


Mumbai, Oct 7 (IANS): The Dhirubhai Ambani International School has been ranked the top global school in India for the second consecutve year in the latest Education World India School Rankings, founder-chairman Nita M. Ambani said in a statement.

Speaking about the performance of the students in 2014, Ambani said this has helped the school get an average diploma ranking of 39.42 points, against 30.77 for South Asia, 33.16 for South East Asia and 30.06 for the world at large.

Among the two other rankings for the international slot, the Indus International School was named first in the day-cum-boarding category, while the Kodaikanal International School was adjudged first in the boarding category.

For the 2014 rankings, 8,263 fee-paying parents, educationists, principals and teachers were interviewed in 25 cities by the Delhi-based C fore and asked to rate schools in 10 categories on 14 parameters of education excellence, Educationworld magazine said.

"Six of our students earned the perfect score of 45 points - the highest ever that the school has achieved. In 2014, this perfect score of 45 points was achieved by only 10 students in South Asia, 26 in South East Asia, and 194 worldwide," Ambani said.

"Over the past 10 years, 45 students in South Asia earned a perfect score of 45 points, of which 25 are from Dhirubhai Ambani International School. Thus, 56 percent of all the students who achieved the perfect score of 45 in South Asia are from our school."

Ambani also said some 140 leading universities across the globe, including Oxford, the Cambridge, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard, Stanford, Yale and Brown, had accepted the students of the Dhirubhai Ambani International School.
