The contractor had complained to the CBI earlier that the director had been demanding money. The CBI, with the help of the contractor, laid a trap and caught the official while accepting the bribe.

After interrogating the director, the CBI team carried out a 'panchanama' late in the night in the Khadi Commission office and thereafter at around 1.45 am he was taken into custody.

The CBI team later searched his residence in Goa and also his native house in Haryana and collected some important documents. When asked about further details the CBI team declined to answer any of the questions.

The official has now been remanded to 4 days' custody.
