Four killed, 18 injured in Afghan suicide attack


Kabul, Oct 8 (IANS): At least four people were killed and 18 others injured in a suicide car bombing in Afghanistan Wednesday.

"A suicide car bomb went off near the Naw Zad district police chief's house in Lashkar Gah city around 10:50 a.m. local time, killing three police officers and the bomber on the spot," reported Xinhua, citing government spokesman Omar Zwak.

Lashkar Gah is the capital of southern Afghan province Helmand.

"The injured, including two policemen and 16 civilians, were shifted to a nearby hospital," the official said.

No group has claimed responsibility yet for the attack.
