Modi condoles journalist M.V. Kamath's death

New Delhi, Oct 9 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday condoled the death of veteran journalist and former chairman of Prasar Bharati M.V. Kamath, saying his demise is a "loss to the world of literature and journalism".

"A prolific writer and fine human being, M.V. Kamath's demise is a loss to the world of literature and journalism. May his soul rest in peace," Modi said in a tweet.

"My mind goes back to the several interactions I had with M.V. Kamath ji. He was a repository of knowledge, always full of humility and grace," he added.

One of Modi's earliest biographers, Kamath, 94, had been hospitalised for the past few days in his native place Manipal in Karnataka. He breathed his last around 6.30 a.m. Thursday.
