Mumbai, Oct 10: Canara Konkani Association Borivli, held its 8th Annual General Body meeting at MBA hall of St Francis Institute’s premises on Oct 3 at 5 PM. Nearly 200 members of the association attended the same.

In the absence of Chairman of the association Albert W D' Souza, who could not attend the meeting as he had to attend an official religious function at Bareily, President of the association, George D'Souza chaired and Veronica Noronha compered the meeting.

Secretary Charles D Cunha, Treasurer Robert Tauro and Godfrey Quadros, persons in charge of Educational aid committee were present on the dais. William Martis who was appointed as election officer introduced the newly elected 23 members of the committee to the house.

Avril Saldanha, a student of Cambridge School, Kandivali and a talented Table Tennis player, was felicitated for her achievement in winning gold medals in various competitions. After the AGM a cultural programme titled 'Konkani Kala Utsav' was organised for all Konkani loving people of the parish.

Well known singers of Konkani Ivan sequeira, Ryan D' Souza, Anthony Tauro, Denis Gonsalves, Frank D' Souza, Sunitha D' Souza and Kenny Zuzarte entertained the audience with their melodious songs. Riola Mathias and her team of youngsters from Mira Road enthralled the audience with their dances.

Well known actors of the association, Henry D' Souza, Cyril Monis, Wilfred Mendonca, Ruben Menezes, Veronica Noronha and Winny Mendonca mesmerised the audience with their comedy act. The donors were honoured with a bouquet of flowers by Fr Vincent Barboza, Asst. Parish priest of the Church. Charles D' Cunha compered the Konkani Kala Utsav which was attended by houseful audience. The programme ended with a carry away dinner packet which was served to all.
