Jammu, Oct 11 (IANS): A guerrilla hideout was busted Saturday in Jammu and Kashmir's hilly Kishtwar district and an amount of arms and ammunition seized, police said.

"Kishtwar police and 8 Rashtriya Rifles(RR) carried out a search operation in Maalghote Dhar forests of Kishtwar district where they busted a hideout used by militants in the past and recovered arms/ammunition and explosives," a police official said.

He termed it a "major milestone", and a "serious setback to anti-national elements" and "detrimental to revival of militancy in the area".

The seized arms/ammunition and explosives include a 52 mm mortar, a self-loading rifle, two Pakistan-made pistols, 12 under barrel grenades, 10 hand grenades besides magazines, rounds of ammunition and explosive material.
