Sudan stun Nigeria in AFCON qualifier


Lagos, Oct 12 (IANS): Sudan upset defending champions Nigeria 1-0 in a 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier in Omdurman, Sudan.

Nigeria, known as the Super Eagles, Saturday lost to the Sudanese, who are now placed third in Group A behind South Africa and Congo, reports Xinhua.

The return leg of the fixture will take place in Nigeria Oct 15.

South Africa's Bafana Bafana now lead Group A with seven points followed by Congo on six and Sudan on three.

The African champions are languishing fourth in the group.
