AAP, BJP workers scuffle, lodge cross-FIRs


New Delhi, Oct 13 (IANS): A scuffle broke out in west Delhi's Rohini area between AAP and BJP workers with both sides lodging cross-FIRs, police said here Monday.

"We have received complaints from both the parties against each other. We have filed the First Information Report against both the sides," said a police official.

The incident occurred Monday afternoon.

"AAP's Rakhi Birla and party volunteer Ram Pratap Goyal were beaten up by the husband of local BJP councillor Sanjana Singh when they were hearing about the problems of local sanitation workers in a park," a party statement said.

Despite repeated attempts, Singh could not be contacted for her comments.

"Not only did the BJP councillor Sanjana Singh try to disrupt the meeting, but called her husband, who along with other goons followed Rakhi and AAP volunteers till Ram Pratap Goyal's office," it added.

"The goons entered Goyal's office and beat up everyone present there. They did not even spare the women, including Rakhi," it added.
