Human resource, land management among army's concerns


New Delhi, Oct 15 (IANS): Management of defence land, increasing officer intake and management of human resource were among the top concerns of the Indian Amy as its top commanders met in the national capital.

The army commanders conference also discussed how to improve service conditions and welfare of the junior commissioned officers (JCOs).

The four-day conference, which started Oct 13, will conclude Thursday.

The conference is the highest level military conference and is held bi-annually to discuss current internal and external strategic issues, review of operational preparedness of the Indian Army and aspects pertaining to military technology and force modernization.

The naval commanders and air force commanders conferences are also being held simultaneously.

The conferences will finally conclude with a combined commanders conference Friday, which will be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This will be the first time the prime minister will meet the top commanders of all three forces together.
