Musicians to perform fundraiser for Assam flood victims


New Delhi, Oct 16 (IANS): India’s well-known musicians like Vishal Dadlani, Shekhar Ravjiani, Papon, Arijit Singh, Indian Ocean and Benny Dayal will come together for a fundraiser gig to be held here Sunday to help flood victims of Assam.

Spearheaded by Papon and Dadlani, the line-up also includes Shilpa Rao, Neeti Mohan and Harshdeep Kaur.

They will perform at Blue Frog here Sunday to help generate funds for the people who have been ravaged by the recent floods in the state.

“The intention is to generate awareness and attention about to the flood situation in Assam and generate as much relief funds as possible towards the cause,” Papon, who comes from Assam himself, said in a statement.

Over 42 lakh people have been affected in Assam, hit by floods last month.

Dadlani had also tweeted: "#ForAssam 19Oct, Blue Frog, Delhi. Biggest line-up ever, for flood relief. Make sure you're there, & spread the word!"
