Two militants killed in Afghan air strikes


Kabul, Oct 17 (IANS): Two Taliban militants were killed during air strikes in Afghanistan's Baghlan province, a police officer said Friday.

The victims were key Taliban commander Qari Zubair and his comrade Qari Mohammad Hassan, the official told Xinhua.

They were killed in Tangi Murch area of Borka district.

Qari Zabair had served as the Taliban's governor of Borka, the officer said, adding his killing could be a major blow to Taliban in Baghlan and the adjoining areas.
