'BJP government has failed to check price rise'

Shimla, Oct 17 (IANS): Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee chief Sukhvinder Sukhu Friday slammed the central government for failing to check price rise and said the BJP has failed to fulfil the promises made during the Lok Sabha election.

Addressing a meeting of party workers in the Karsog assembly constituency with All India Congress Committee secretary Raja Rampal Singh, he said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has always tried to show off.

"During the election, the BJP misled voters by promising to bring down inflation, provide jobs and bring back black money within 100 days in office," Sukhu said.

He said 100 days have passed and Prime Minister Narendra Modi should now tell the people if he has fulfilled the promises about bringing down inflation, helping the poor and providing jobs.

He said the BJP believes in taking credit for the work done by the Congress governments. "When BJP was in the opposition, it made fun of our programmes but now Modi is renaming all our programmes and taking credit for them."

Sukhu said changes would be made in the party to strengthen it from block to district level. Youth and women would be given preference in the party organisation.
