Udupi, Oct 21: The Brahmavar police led by PSI B Sunil Kumar arrested Anil Donald D'Sa, a resident of Perampalli near here while transporting hemp at Brahmavar on Friday October 20.
The hemp was being transported on a Maruti Omni car. The police after receiving a tip-off about the same, intercepted the car near Hotel Mother Palace on National Highway 17 at Brahmavar. Upon checking police found illicit hemp which was being transported by Anil Donald. He said that the hemp was being transported as per the instructions of one Asif.
A case under Narcotic Drugs Psychotropic Substance Act has been registered by Brahmavar police against Anil Donald, Asif, Raghavendra Poojary, Santhosh, Ali, Akmal and Saleem in this regard.
