Kundapur, Oct 21: Suresh Naik, son of Putta Naik of Vate Bacchalu near Hallihole here who had been accused of raping a young woman of his locality sometimes ago, has now been granted anticipatory bail by the district sessions court.
Eversince the rape case had come to the fore, Suresh had been absconding. Though the Shankarnarayana police had tried to arrest him after registering a case, they had not succeeded. Meanwhile, Suresh had applied for anticipatory bail while still being at large.
Based on his bail plea, district sessions judge K N Faneendra has granted conditional bail recently.
