Teenaged boy jumps off Gurgaon school building


Gurgaon, Oct 20 (IANS): A 15-year-old boy jumped from his private school building here Monday, police said. His condition is critical.

Himanshu, a Class 9 student, jumped off the second floor of his Shri S.N. Sidheshwar Senior Secondary Public School here in Sector 9.

He lives in Saraswati Enclave area which is also located near Sector 9.

"The victim was not in position to register his statement. He has been admitted to a private hospital and we are investigating," a senior police officer told IANS.

The boy's father Narender Singh, who is a supervisor with a private firm, said: "A school teacher informed me regarding the incident. But school authorities could not tell the reason why my son took this step."

He said: "I cannot say whether he jumped on his own or was pushed by someone."

He added: "Once he had told me that some outsiders, standing near the main gate of the school, harassed him. I had informed the school management regarding this."

Narendra Singh said: "Sunday, he purchased crackers for Diwali and on Monday, he left for school as routine."

No one from the school authorities was available for comment.
