Kuwait, Oct 23: The date October 24,  2006 is not going to be an ordinary holiday in the state of Kuwait. This day is going to be packed with good times, laughter and cheer lead by the spirit of community service and fellowship at Fission 2006 – Celebrating Youth.

The Salmiya Parish Youth of St. Therese Parish, Salmiya more popularly known as SPY are hosting a fun-fete ‘ Fission 2006 – Celebrating Youth’ on 24 Oct 2006 at Don Bosco School (Indian English Academy), Salmiya to commemorate their first anniversary.

Humble beginnings ignited by Fr. Melvin, with a gathering of a little over 50 youth, on 3rd Oct 2005 at the Salmiya Parish to provide a platform for the youth in the parish has grown to a member base of over 150 youth from the parish. SPY is a fully functional youth wing of the parish with an elected body of representatives from the youth led by its Presidents’ Denzil D’sa and Melvira Quadros and guided by Fr. Lionel Braganza, sdb, SPY delegate and Cynthia Crasto, the SPY animator. The SPY meets every first and third Saturday of the month in the church courtyard.

The 3 main goals around which the SPY activities revolve around are formation, fellowship and service. SPY enjoys the support of its parish priest Fr. Berchmans Aruldoss OCD and Asst. Parish Priest Fr. Thomas Vadakadan OCD along with Vicariate Apostolic of Kuwait i.e. the Bishop.

In a short span, SPY has captivated the minds and hearts of the parishioners through its small yet powerful strides in the parish, through activities such as Parent Trap 2006, Youth Christmas Tree 2005,  SPY Picnic, Adoration session, Wedding anniversary mass choir, SPY Choir.

Next stop – Fission 2006, an all day fun-fete, from 9 AM – 9 PM on 24 Oct 2006 at Don Bosco School, Salmiya to celebrate the holiday season with family and friends, by indulging in game stalls, a day with your favorite music being aired both recorded and live, a one stop shop for the things that you always yearned for, competitions, raffle draw, attractive prizes and mouth watering dishes at the food stalls. SPY cordially welcomes you to participate in the youth experience.
