Kuwait: KCWA Family Meet - Photo Album

Kuwait, Oct 23: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA), one of the largest associations in Kuwait held annual get together for its members and families on 23rd October 2006 at Ahmadi KOC Garden from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm.

With the timing of the event perfectly fitting with the beginning of Eid holidays and pleasant climate, it was a day for the participants of the event to take the pleasure in the various sporting activities. The program started with a prayer led by “Jasmine Priest” fame Fr. Alfred Pinto who is on a visit to Kuwait, invoking blessings of God and the events for the day were declared open with a warm welcome speech from the President Steven Machado.



With a delicious breakfast served to all, the first event of the day was a game for the kids below 7 years.  All the participants of this game received a light yoyo toy which made them active and encouraged them to take part in more games. Traditional games like Coconut breaking, Breaking the pot (Modki Phutaunchi), Kabbadi, Tug of War, Volley Ball for men and Throw ball for women were also a part of the event. Various types of other games were segregated as per the age groups.

 



Fr. Theo – Parish Priest of Ahmadi Church was also present for the morning session and led the grace before meals. A typical Mangalorean cuisine prepared by M & M Confectionary was served for lunch. The afternoon sessions had more entertainment programs which commenced with the song “Juliana... Moga Muja Juliana” with dance session.  A quick game was conducted for the senior citizens above 60 years named the “One Minute game” and all of them were honored with a gift and the prize was given out to the winner. Housie Housie was conducted by Steven Machado and Lancy Rodrigues. The compere`s Steven- Machado and Rudy D`souza did an excellent job.



Live Music was provided by the Scorpios which kept the spirits high and many people joined in the dancing of the Baila session.  Pascal Pinto the Ex-President of KCWA and the present Public Relations officer proposed the vote of thanks. The well entertained event of KCWA for the year 2006 came to an end at 6.00 pm with a baila sessions with people demanding for more.
