Udupi, Oct 24: One person was killed and one more was in a collision of two tempos on National Highway 17 at Moodbettu near Katapadi here in the small hours of Tuesday October 24.
The deceased has been identified as Shashidhar Putran (42), a resident of Kadipatna. He was driving a tempo that was on its way to Malpe from Padubidri to fetch fish. The cleaner of the same tempo Chandrasekhar Putran (40) of Kadabettu has sustained critical injuries in the accident.
The accident occurred when a tempo carrying fish from Byndoor to Mangalore collided with another tempo that was on its way to Malpe. As a result Shashidhar who got stuck between two tempos breathed his last on the spot. Chandrasekhar who sustained injuries has been admitted to Hi-Tech Hospital here.
Kaup police have registered a case in this regard.
