Kundapur, Oct 25: The police have ordered the closure of two arrack shops in Alur village here, following a dispute between the promoters of the shops.

The dispute turned political with leaders from different parties lobbying to procure license for their supporters to manage the arrack shops. 

Elected representatives have been promoting several arrack shops in villages here. Many of the shops are illegal, resulting in a dispute between opposition and ruling parties.

The situation here has led to law and order problems and the closure of the shops was a precautionary measure.
