Mangalore, Oct 25: In another tragedy at the scenic Panambur beach here, a 20-year-old person met watery grave on Tuesday October 24.

The drowned has been identified as Premnath (20), a resident of Vamanjoor.  On Tuesday, a group of 10 persons from Vamanjoor had gone to Panambur beach for a casual stroll.  Out of them 6 persons were playing on the beach while another 4 ventured into the sea to swim.  Premnath was one of them.

However, while swimming, he suddenly went missing near the breakwater at the beach.  Though efforts were made to rescue him, no one succeeded in pulling him out from water.  He was washed away by the strong waves.  His body has not yet been traced.  Police and locals are continuing search operations in the area to trace Premnath's body.

This is the fifth drowning case that has been reported from Panambur beach in the last couple of months.  Out of this, 4 persons met watery grave at the beach in the month of September alone.

The Panambur police have registered a case in this regard.
