Mangalore, Oct 25: The annual fogging operations by Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) to drive house flies away from Bengare area here were launched once again on Wednesday October 25 morning at Bommakudru.

These fogging operations have become very customary in the last few years since corporators and concerned authorities are remembered about driving flies away only when the area is gripped with malaria, cholera etc.  Otherwise, neither concerned corporators nor anyone else remember about this mission.

Flies have been a menace in the Bengare area for long.  But MCC and the corporators have failed in making adequate arrangements for drying fish in this area.  Drying the fish in open and large areas has been a major concern since it gives an open invitation to flies to invade the territory.

On Wednesday morning, this customary fogging operation was launched once again with MCC assistant health officer Padmanabh and health inspector Basavraj leading the operation.
