Venkaiah Naidu to adopt cyclone-hit village

Visakhapatnam, Oct 23 (IANS): Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu has decided to adopt a cyclone-affected village in Andhra Pradesh.

The minister Thursday announced that he and his family members will adopt Chepalupada village and undertake rebuilding work.

Venkiah Naidu said they were ready to spend any amount of money required for reconstruction of the village battered by cyclone Hudhud Oct 12.

He said he will provide Rs.25 lakh to the village from the MP Local Area Development Fund.

Venkiah Naidu with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu led hundreds of citizens in a candle and torch light march Wednesday night to show solidarity with the cyclone victims.

The minister said the central government was ready to provide more financial assistance to help Visakhapatnam get back to normalcy.

Venkiah Naidu said the central government was waiting for a proper assessment report on the destruction caused by the cyclone, after which more funds would be provided.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who visited cyclone-battered Visakhapatnam Oct 14, had announced Rs.1,000 crore as interim assistance to the state.

Venkaiah Naidu is elected to Rajya Sabha continuously for two terms from Karnataka but he never spent even a single rupee for Karnataka Villages when north Karnataka was reeling either under drought OR flood during last four years.
What is the use of electing such Telugu Biddas from Karnataka?

Thanks for proving and exibhiting your Fekugiri again and again in Daiji, this time with this Island story. Anyways even if they own they are not Sadakchaaps like.... why are you jealous ? Work for it & don't cry sour grapes just coz you don't own one. Rajnath Singh may diffintly know where Canada is but am sure many of the Daijians don't know where is this Switzerland with Islands. Atleast act as grown up if you cant.

adopting a full village needs 4 crore rupees! ( I am going by, Sachin Tendulkar's proposal... incidentally , he adopted Puttamraju Kandrika village located in Gudur mandal here for developing it as a smart village with nearly Rs. 4 crore from his MPLADS funds, on advise of Venkaiah Naidu...)....

I am sure, Venkaiah, does a good job, if he puts his mind!! Funds should not be a issue, as each MP gets handsome MPLAD funds to develop..! let the naysayers, sit bitching.. u continue doing good job sir.. khaa khaa ke, MPs round ho gaye ...Mohd Azharuddin, prior to election announced his intention to construct a university and a stadium in Moradabad, as well as improve the city's electricity problem. We expected after getting elected he would bring back some lost pride due to matchfixing to the Nation, however he failed to deliver....

Let good people continue do their work....!

Naidu is the MP of Karnataka and his MPLAD Development fund should be spent in Karnataka and not in Andhra. He can spend his personal money in his home state AP.

    Dinesh Poojari,

Now KAHZANA is with your party people and for them taking "DATTHU" one tiny village is nothing.By the by Naidu, these years enjoyed (ministerial post)with out having popular mandate and slept all these years.A GOLDEN 'TALWAR' donated by Reddy brothers might be enough for this adoption.....

Ismail, I think you're lagging in getting d news...Reliance has given 25 Cr to AP Govt towards relief (They have a huge project KG Basin in the state) Tata's were the first to assure Naidu to restore telecommunication links at an expense of 10 Cr & they did this in under 5 days...Also provided relief supplies to over 50 villages. Pawan Kalyan has contributed Rs 50 Lakhs personally towards CM Flood refief fund...Many more philanthropists are lending helping hand to Naidu & AP Govt to limp back to normalcy...

Naidu is doing a superb job in monitoring the relief work at AP by being at Vishakhapatnam & its not everytime you see a dedicated CM camp personally & oversee relief operations

Extremely great initiative from Venkaiah Naidu!! This is how politicians need to respond to natural calamities...

Meanwhile the other Naidu (CM) is doing a fantastic job of supervising relier work at Vishakhapatnam...He & his team have been camping there monitoring situation & relief work since last 2 weeks!!
