Rio De Janeiro, Oct 24 (IANS) Two days after Shakhtar Donetsk striker Luiz Adriano became the second player after Lionel Messi to score five goals in a Champions League match, the 27-year-old received a Brazil call-up as coach Dunga announced squad for two football friendly internationals against Turkey and Austria next month.
Adriano netted five goals in Shakhtar's 7-0 victory over BATE Borisov which helped him earn a place in Brazil team alongside three new faces in his club team mate Douglas Costa, Hoffenheim playmaker Roberto Firmino and Fiorentina goalkeeper Neto, reports Xinhua.
Dunga said Adriano got the promotion, having spent seven years at Shakhtar after starting his career with Brazil's Internacional.
"Brazilian fans understand that it is difficult to play in a country like Ukraine, which has snow for many months of the year and even harder to consistently score goals there and in the Champions League as well," Dunga said during a press conference Thursday.
Thiago Silva, who has recovered from a hamstring injury, returned to the squad for the first time since captaining Brazil to the World Cup semis in July.
But the Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defender is not expected to regain the leader's armband, which was given to Neymar in September.
Dunga also recalled PSG winger Lucas, Porto midfielder Casemiro and Valencia goalkeeper Diego Alves.
Brazil will play Turkey in Istanbul Nov 12 followed by a clash against Austria in Vienna six days later.
