Zurich, Oct 24 (IANS): The Indian football team dropped one place to be ranked 159th in the latest FIFA rankings released here Friday.
The Sunil Chhetri-led side got 119 points and went a place below as Liechtenstein gained 17 points to reach 155th position in the rankings which continue to be headed by World Champions Germany.
While the World Cup runners-up Argentina, Colombia and Brazil were static at second, third and sixth spot respectively, Belgium relegated the Netherlands one place to be ranked fourth followed by France, Uruguay, Portugal and Spain from seventh to 10th spots.
Spain, 2010 World Champions, have slipped two places to stay ahead of 11th ranked 2006 world champions Italy. Croatia, Algeria and Ukraine jumped five places each to occupy 14th, 15th and 19th position as Greece and England dropped four and two places to be 18th and 20th in the rankings that included 208 teams.
Mexico slipped a rung, going from No. 16 to 17 while Costa Rica moved to the 16th spot, also by slipping a notch, with a total of 974 points.
The biggest mover was Togo, who jumped from the 125th to the 52nd. Algeria are the top-ranked African country at the 15th spot.
