Mangalore, Oct 26: The District Crime Investigation Bureau (DCIB) under T B Rajanna and with the help of the staff of the Women’s Police Station on Tuesday, Oct 24 conducted a raid in Kandettu in Padav village here.

Two women were held for flesh trade in a house, while four men have been arrested. A Maruti Car and three mobile phones were also confiscated from the accused.

The team, based on a tip off raided the house on Oct 24 evening. During interrogation, the two women admitted they were employed as dancers in one of the live bands of the city. Once the live bands were closed they had shifted to prostitution, police sources said.

The arrested include Jagannath Poojary (26) of Puttur, Sheela (25) of Kolkotta, Vasant Naik (22), Puttur, Renuka (24) Chamarajnagar, Jayaram Poojary (30), Hebri, Karkala, and Harish Kumar (32) of Suratkal.

Another person who was also said to be involved in promoting flesh trade is said to be absconding.
